She scribbled the address into her notebook, then typed it into her phone’s navigation system. The GPS announced she would arrive in nine minutes.
Amalia laughed as she pulled into the parking lot. It was certainly not ocean front. The motel sat adjacent to a gas station along a highway. Even in the dark, Amalia could tell the facade’s blue paint was peeling. It was a one-story collection of rooms in the shape of a C. Each room’s door faced the parking lot. A few lit windows dotted the half-circle.
